Accepting to Improve your Personal Life Do you have the ability to accept the things you can change and the things you cannot change? Do you have the ability to accept that other people are opt to change them, rather than you changing them? Do you accept that you are who you are, regardless of what others think? Can you accept the many changes that take place in your life? If you answered yes to one or all of these questions then you are off to the start of improving your personal life. If you are willing to accept, you have the ability to laugh, even when something is not funny. For instance, if someone pushed you, you could stand back and laugh. The push is only a threat to your emotion, which you will see, accept and find a way to gain control of the situation. When you can accept things in life, including you and others you find a way to take control. When you are in control, it helps you to see how you can improve your personal life. When you learn to accept you will learn to discover you. Individuality is personal, which philosophers over generalize this subject. Many people in the world believe that when we act the same way at all times, we have established our identity. Politically incorrect! We have emotions, thoughts, behaviors, actions, and have been plagued by a world of influences both good and bad. Each day we will feel something new, which causes our personality to reflect on these changes. Therefore, when you see someone laughing one minute and crying the next, you are seeing a shift in emotions, which is a normal pattern of identity for this person. Unless the persons eyes change, behaviors change dramatically, friends change regularly, etc, and you are seeing common behaviors. We live in a world that desensitizes us. We are surrounding by billions of influences on television, in the media, on radio, in house-holds, government, schools and so forth. Each to their own, but everyone is judging someone at some time, which is something we have to accept. We cannot change these peoples behaviors and way of thinking, but we can change ours. This is a part of learning and accepting. The best way around the world is become your own influence and allow other influences to make someone else’s life miserable. Only rely on sources that prove truthful with their actions, behaviors and words. Positive reflections are the key to living happier. Once you learn to accept you will be eager to laugh. For instance, if someone makes you mad you will see the humor in his or her actions. You may see the humor in your actions if you make a mistake and feed into their stupidity. Once you start to see the humor in life, you will feel better inside. We are involved in a unruly world filled with greedy people, envious souls, lusty tigers, and so on. We have to learn how to work around these people, accept us and move on. Once you learn to change to better you, other people may follow. Good conduct has proven far more effective than words to encourage others to change. As you grow you will feel a new hunger, and that hunger will guide you to discover new ways to better you. In time as you start to feel better, you will see a need to exercise, eat right, and hang out with positive influences and so on. Once you feel this hunger, you will feel inspired to labor to achieve your goals.

Focusing Your Intentions

Runners to your mark, get set, go! When I was running track in high school, the sprinters lined up on the track to run a 100 yard dash. Each of them had one single focus and intention. They wanted to be the first one to cross the finish line before anyone else. This required unwavering attention inwardly and outwardly upon their goal because a single mistake could cost them the race.

When a person is engaged in accomplishing a goal, you have to set your mind and heart to the task at hand. Setting a goal to accomplish is a good start. Along the way there needs to be mini goals to keep you on track for your main goal. Setting goals keeps you focused. They make you follow through with your highest intention.

To see through your eyes what you cannot see with them is a good way to meet your goals in life. For example, take a pebble and throw it into a pond or lake. Watch the ripples move and spread out across the lake or pond. Then see how far you can follow the pebble as it makes its way to the bottom of the lake or pond. At some point, you will not be able to see where the pebble is going. This requires you to see through your eyes what you no longer can see with them. You know exactly where that rock went. It went to the very bottom. It landed on the foundation of what holds every bit of that pond together.

Your soul or your inner vision is just like this pond. When you chose to focus your attention on a particular intention or goal, you place your energy into life. Then, a ripple effect causes actions to take place across the pond or your life. Although none of us can predict our paths in life, we can always know where we are going. We are going to the Source. It is the foundation that holds all of life together.

How can you know what your focused intention is? What is your favorite hobby? Have your ever thought of making it your career? For instance, do you love golf and find yourself being a salesman? Then try to find a way to invest in or sell golf equipment. There are many ways to tap into your abundant thoughts and connect them to your interests. My hunch is that you will be glad you did. Out of your abundance or thoughts will come the riches of your life.

I know of one man who had a dream. He had a dream to become the next President of the United States of America. His dream was to make the playing field even for all Americans economically. His message was one of Hope. His focused intentions were to be in a position of living to fulfill his dream. He went all over the country to share his message of hope for all Americans. After 2 long years of campaigning, winning the Democratic nomination, running against the Republican nominee John McCain, on November 4, 2008, President Barack Obama saw his focused intentions manifest themselves into material reality. He made history by becoming the first black American President of our time.

Do you have a dream? What is it? Have you been focusing on this dream for years? Why not make it a reality? So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you won’t even remember. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you.  So which dart pins should you avoid?

Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment
Beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned.  Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.

Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers… all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment
You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it.

Dart Pin #4: Past Experience
It’s okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson.

Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations.

The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesn’t mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you’ll never have to encounter the same mistakes.

Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.”  

In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change  changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.

Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline.  Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. Multi-tasking For Success

The rumour mills will have you believe that it?s only women that can multi-task but considering some of the most successful businesses are run by men and women alike, I think it?s safe to say that that?s just not true, which is a good thing as the ability to multi-task is a must have skill if you want to do well in business.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks a lot of people seem to struggle with is the ability to balance or juggle 2, 3 or 4 projects at a time. When you are running your own business you become the manager, secretary, PR, cleaner, payroll, office assistant, accountant and everything else that a good business needs to run, and wearing that many hats at once is going to take a large amount of organisational and multi-tasking skills.

Write it down.
Make a note of everything that comes up that has any relevance to your business. Quite often we think of things that need to be done and convince ourselves that we?ll remember it later, and then what happens? Yep, poof! Just like that, the very important phone call or email that we had to send falls out of your head until it?s far too late.

Organise your paperwork.
The more organised you are the easier it becomes to run your business. Keep papers and files relating to different aspects of your business separated and clearly labelled.

Allocate your time.
As you have so many different roles to play it?s important to give each aspect your full attention. To do that separate your week into specific tasks that need to be completed. You can?t be too rigid with this as things will crop up from time to time that you just need to take care of but unless it?s unavoidable, stick to the schedule and get things done.

Get a diary.
As well as noting down what you have to do it?s a good idea to keep a note of what you have already done. Get a diary in which you can enter a daily summary of your activities that way you will always have a record of what you did and when you did it. This can also come in very handy if you ever loose any work or suffer from any sort of network or computer failure.

Stay focused.
Finally stay focused on what you are doing. If you?re anything like me there are times when you are your own worst distraction as your mind races around thinking of all the other things that you need to do. At that point get your note book out and write it down or stick it on a post it and come back to it later.

To keep your quality of work high always finish what you?ve started.

Double Your Way To A Million

Well last week my thoughts were mostly success bound as I was finishing off reading a great autobiography from one of the leading, current day entrepreneurs from here in the UK. Most of you in Britain will know of Duncan Bannetyne from the TV series, Dragons Den. In his biography he shares with his readers how an underachiever at school became a high achiever in business! It is a truly remarkable story and a must read for anyone.

In this article I want to talk briefly about beliefs and about 1 million pounds!

So first let?s get on to beliefs. Beliefs are strange things that steer us in different directions. They even let us know what we are capable of and worst still ? what we are not capable of. Beliefs are great things to have as long as you are in control of them. For instance if you where on a tall cliff with only a map and a compass then the belief that humans can?t fly would be a good one to have ? as to stop you from taking the fastest route to the beach below.

But even then, you have the responsibility to keep yours self motivated and believe me, self motivation is the best motivation because it comes from within.

With steadily increasing global competition, it is more important than ever that each employee in your organization have a clear understanding of the company?s overall vision, be in alignment with the organizational goals, and have identified how their day to day activities contribute to the accomplishment of these objectives.

No longer do people have the luxury of arriving at work, completing their assigned tasks, and going home, thinking, magically, that everything will continue to work out as before. We are experiencing a rapidly changing business climate, which demands shifts in attitudes and creative thinking in order to meet the challenges of the future.

How can your company accomplish this throughout your organization?

Beginning, as author Steven Covey, reminds us, ?with the end in mind.? As an executive, you must ask yourself and your team what the ?ideal? looks like in each key area. In sales, for example, what would be the ideal situation? How would it appear? What about manufacturing, administration, and distribution? If everything were operating perfectly, how would you describe it?

Bringing key management together for this type of strategic planing session will result in your having identified a crystal clear vision for the entire organization, with each and every segment of the business functioning at it?s optimal level.

This visioning exercise can then be adapted and used by each department to create a ?mini? version for their own area of responsibility and, further, to the individual, enabling she or he to relate their job to the bigger picture as well as their personal goals.

Once you have a clear vision of what the ideal would be in each area of your organization, the next step is to identify several goals by which you can measure your progress. For the sake of this exercise, we?ll use a one year time frame, since this is a reasonable period to institute change, while allowing you to experience success early on.

Looking at each segment of your business, what would have to happen to accomplish your ideal vision? If, for example, in distribution, the ideal was to achieve 100% on time delivery and no more than a 72 hour turnaround, what are the measurable goals that would support it?s accomplishment?

When setting goals, it is important to use the S.M.A.R.T. method , whereby each goals is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Timed. Specifically, what will you accomplish by when? Then, from your list of goals, you can develop 30?90 day milestones and further reduce those to identify the daily actions that must be taken in order to succeed.

For example, part of the vision for your sales department might be, ?To be the best in our industry. To be the ?gold standard? by which our competition measures itself against.? This will likely translate to an increase in sales, improved customer retention, better referrals and so on.

From this, the sales woman in your New Jersey territory may, looking at her personal vision and goals, decide she wants to earn 50% more in commissions and calculates that this would require XX dollars in sales each quarter. From this, she has determined, based on past performance, how many sales per month she needs and, further, how many presentations she needs to make each week. This breaks down further into how many calls she needs to make each day in order to accomplish this, what additional systems she might implement to achieve better customer retention, and which networking functions would best support her vision.

With each and every individual, in each and every department, holding the same, clear vision and knowing their role in it?s accomplishment, you will experience a level of success beyond your wildest expectations.

It is ok sometimes to be angry. Sometimes this is a great way to move past certain problems and issues that you may have. Anger is completely normal and you will want to make sure that you are dealing with it as best as you can. You will want to be careful so that you are not setting yourself up for more problems when you are angry because of a divorce.

Getting divorced can be a hard time in anyone’s life. It is something that you will have to deal with one day at a time. It is not regularly easy for both parties especially if you are not the person initiating the divorce. If you are the person that is being left, you may feel angry and hurt at the other person. These feelings are completely relevant and you will have more emotions come up in the future as well.

When you are having issues with anger because of a divorce, you will want to check that you are using your best judgment in the matter. You do not want to do anything to harsh because you may later regret it. Remember that once you do something or say something, it is impossible for you to take it back. You must remain calm in this situation so that you are not coming off looking irrational or childish.

There are ways that you can deal with the anger after a divorce. You will want to sit down and calmly think about them first. You do want to confirm that you have the facts to why you are getting divorced. Certify that you are not left out in the dark so that you can have a full understanding of what is going on in your life. You can try and talk to your soon to be ex and find out what is going on and use communication as a form of release. Talking things out can sometimes make a person feel much better.

In order for you to feel better and get through the divorce, you will need to move past the angry part. You have to find a way to move on and get through this difficult time. There is no real answers to how you do this, you just have to figure out the best way that you know how so that you are taking care of you first. The most crucial thing that you can do when you are in the process of a divorce or after it is said and done is to take care of yourself. You need to ensure that you are staying healthy and happy because you are more vital.

Anger is a very passionate emotion. It can take you up or down. It will depend on the way that you are able to handle the emotion and what you intend to do with it. You do not want to let the anger that you have inside you got too far advanced. You want to make sure that you can contain it and keep it under control for your sake and the sake of others. There is no reason to fly off the handle and cause a big scene even though it may seem like it is a good idea at the time.

You can seek treatment for any anger issues that you may be dealing with. When you think that you are not able to control your anger, you can go and find help for these problems. You can get counseling and find out what is making you so angry and different steps to make it better and improve as time rolls on.

How Clear Limiting Beliefs

Before we start talking about how to clear limiting beliefs, I think it?s important to understand the VALUE of limiting beliefs. In other words, WHY do we have them? What?s the intent of these beliefs?

And, to understand that, you need to accept that YOU are responsible for every one of your beliefs. You created them, yourself, though seldom consciously. And, one more thing: YOU never do anything with the intent of harming your self. So, every limiting belief you have originated with a positive intent. That is, an intent to benefit you in some way.

A limiting belief that says you are poor at math may have originated as a reaction to one or more embarrassing experiences related to math or one or more disparaging remarks made by someone important to us. The belief that you are poor at math might have begun with a positive intent to avoid future embarrassment or disappointment. If you believe you?re not good at something you tend to not try and therefore feel you can?t fail at it.

In the extreme, with a person who commits suicide has come to the belief that death is preferable to living. The positive intent is to avoid pain.

There is always a positive intent.

The thing is, what might have been appropriate and beneficial at the time the belief began is not always appropriate here and now. You are not the same person you were back then. You are older, stronger, wiser, you have different needs, different goals. The original positive intent of those old beliefs is no longer being achieved.

Understanding that key point is the first step in clearing limiting beliefs.

Have a dialogue with yourself. You might even ask yourself what the original intent was for such a belief. When you ask such a question, you are almost certain to receive some kind of answer. Just accept it. Then, you can point out to yourself that, while that might have been appropriate at the time, it?s actually a comforting the opposite, now. And then, ask yourself for help in replacing the old limiting belief with a more empowering one that has the same original positive intent.

Another interesting technique to clear limiting beliefs is to imagine your self finding those beliefs as some physical object inside some imaginary place that represents your brain or your soul or your memories. You might imagine them as videotapes, or DVDs, or paper files, or anything else that has meaning for you. Then, you imagine taking the memory and destroying it, in some way. Maybe you melt it, or burn it, or scribble it out, or erase it. It doesn?t matter, as long as it represents destroying the memory.

Do that for each limiting belief. You may want to identify the belief by giving it a name or description. You may want to think about the problems that belief has given you over the years. If that is difficult, however, is not even required. Instead, you could imagine an unlabeled limiting belief and not even worry about what it was. You simply destroy it, and move onto the next one and destroy it, over and over again, until you can imagine that the storage of limiting beliefs is empty.

Depending on the level of believability you can bring to your imagination, and depending on how intense the emotional feelings are during the process, you might be successful at completely removing or at least diminishing the intensity of those beliefs in a single session. Or, you might need to go through this exercise daily or weekly until you notice they are gone or are no longer controlling your life.

One other quick and easy technique when you recognize that a limiting belief is hampering you, in some way, is to have another quick dialogue with your inner self. You might start by acknowledging that you recognize the limiting belief is having an effect. You might then simply thank yourself for bringing it up and that you have considered it and have decided it doesn?t really apply to this particular situation. Then, give yourself permission to bring it up again at some future time.

It might seem silly to have these conversations with yourself or to imagine your beliefs as physical objects, but it can be a very powerful way of communicating with and reprogramming your subconscious mind.
